Vinarchy Spain participates with its partners Bodegas Faustino and the Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development (Neiker) in the CLIMACAL project.
The objective of the project is to develop an intelligent tool for early prediction of grape quality based on climate, which will allow wineries to adapt their viticultural strategies and respond to wine market trends, which increasingly demand unique wines, leading to an increase in sales of high-end wines in international markets.
The tool will be based on the development of predictive models that will allow determining grape quality before harvest, favoring the improvement of production planning, the optimization of production processes, and the increase in flexibility and adaptability to market trends.
The CLIMACAL project, which started in October 2021, is co-financed by the Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment of the Basque Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), with a total grant of €72,165.25.
